The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is an agency established and vested with the mandate to promote and develop micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.
Objectively, SMEDAN aims to advocate for MSME sector, capacity building and entrepreneurship training, facilitating access to low-cost loans and grants, market development and trade linkage programmes, as well as coordination with state governments and development partners on enterprise growth initiatives.
Currently, the Director General and CEO of SMEDAN is Mr. Charles Odii. So, far the agency has registered over 260,000 business and have disbursed grant to over 18,000 nano-enterprise.
Current Status of SMEDAN Recruitment 2026
As of June 2026, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) through Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment have not yet commenced the 2026/2027 recruitment exercise.
Requirements for SMEDAN Recruitment 2026
The following eligibility criteria for this recruitment exercise are:
Interested applicant must be a Nigerian citizen, possess a valid National Identity Card, international passport, driver’s license and not exceed 35 years of age.
Applicant must have at least five (5) credits in either WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB and must include English Language and Mathematics.
Higher qualifications like Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) etc.
NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter is required for B.Sc. and HND holders.
